She is really very sweet.

Homelessness is not only sad but it leaves broken lives in a dangerous and vulnerable place. In our society it is a travesty that we seem to ignore such failure on the part of those lucky enough to have a roof over our heads. It struck me as such a contradiction that here, on the streets of Edinburgh, in the midst of partying and the frivolity of the fringe festival, that as this lass sat down by the crossing to try and appeal to the better nature of passers by, in the hope that they would spare a few coins in our increasingly cashless society. The red light spoke to me in that we should stop homelessness. It also had another connotation in that historically this was a red light district and it would have been the vulnerable, like this lass, who would have been preyed upon for a few coppers. I called this image, ‘Stop Homelessness’

There is a large Italian population in parts of the UK; South Wales, Glasgow & Edinburgh. This Café in the Grassmarket in Edinburgh sells the best Cannoli outside of Venice … which is where I last had one!
